Hard engineering tasks for AI models
Peira makes analog circuit design tasks with exact, automatic grading. Each task is the datasheet of an electronic part. The model has to design a circuit that meets it.
Four frontier models on 30 tasks, one 3-hour run each.

The 30 tasks are the first generated in the release format, none excluded. They were also its development set. Updated .
How it works
- The task. A full datasheet and a list of allowed catalogue parts. No schematic and no hints. The model picks a circuit, chooses parts and values, and checks the design in a circuit simulator.
- The grade. A simulator checks every line of the datasheet at three temperatures and under part tolerances. No human or AI judge. The score runs from 0, for a trivial design, to 1, for a pass.
- The supply. Tasks are generated. Each one is written from a reference circuit we built and verified first, so every task can be solved.
